In honor of June being LGBTQIA+ Pride month, Book Lovers will be discussing The Mayor of Castro Street: The Life and Times of Harvey Milk by Randy Shilts. The book covers the life of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay elected official in the history of California, where he was elected to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in 1977. Milk was later assassinated at the age of forty-eight and became one of the most influential individuals of the twentieth century. This event will be hosted online.
