For this month’s meeting, we’ll discuss the classic coming-of-age novel, The House on Mango Street, by Sandra Cisneros. The story follows protagonist, Esperanza Cordero, a young Latina girl living in inner-city Chicago. Through a series of short stories, the book follows Esperanza’s sometimes joyous, sometimes heartbreaking journey from childhood to adulthood.
No need to read the book in advance.
