Participants will watch The Tale of The Princess Kaguya, a retelling of a Japan’s most famous folktale by Legendary Studio Ghibli co-founder Isao Takahata. In the movie, an old bamboo cutter and his wife find a tiny nymph inside a bamboo shoot. They raise her as their own, calling her Princess Kaguya. As she grows she’s courted by many suitors, who must complete a difficult mission to marry her. Ultimately though, she must confront her fate and receive punishment for a crime she has committed.
