Felicity House was a home even before it was Felicity House.
The townhouse was built during the American Civil War for the Pyne family.
Percy Rivington Pyne I was born in 1820 in England. He moved to the United States in 1835 and married into a wealthy banking family. He eventually became the President of the City National Bank and built the townhouse for his wife, Albertina Pyne and their two children, Percy R. Pyne and Moses Taylor Pyne.
