Ilene is a board member and Executive Director of New York Collaborates for Autism (NYCA), which she co-founded in 2003. Ilene also co-founded the NYCA Charter School, the only charter school in New York State dedicated exclusively to serving children with a disability. She served as its first Board President until 2007 and continues to serve as a Trustee. Under Ilene’s leadership, NYCA was influential in the opening of the Autism Training Center at Hunter College, a program that provides education and training to graduate level professionals for their certification in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Ilene is also an attorney with nearly 20 years of experience specializing in labor and employment law. She serves on the board of ABILIS, a community based organization that serves people in Fairfield County, CT with developmental disabilities, including autism. Ilene has co-authored and edited numerous articles and publications on services for adults with autism.
